- The Sand Hill Sunday
School has been a very active part of our church.. It is held every Sunday
morning, September - May, for nursery through twelfth grade. Memory
work is emphasized with lesson work from sources such as Augsburg, David
C. Cook, and Witness.
Sunday School teachers and
their children are involved in learning God's Word, participating in church
activities and presenting programs. The Christmas Program is the
single most important event of the year. To celebrate Christ's
birth, the children recite pieces, sing songs, play piano pieces, put on
a play or skit and tell the story of Jesus' birth through the stable
pageant.
We currently have 25
children in Sunday School. Our teachers continue to instruct our
young people about Christ's love, give them an understanding of faith and
instruct them in a way that will give them inner strength when they move
into adulthood and leave our congregation.
Grades' five through nine
participate in the acolyte ceremony. These children are instructed
by the pastor after they have gone through their first communion classes and
taken their first communion. First communion classes are held yearly for 5th graders. During the Sunday church service the
acolytes assist the pastors with candle lighting, offering and communion.
